How to Crochet a Cute Cactus Amigurumi: Complete Step-by StepTutorial for Beginners!


Amigurumi is the art of creating small stuffed creatures using crochet techniques. One of the most popular amigurumi designs is the cactus. This adorable and prickly plant makes for a great decorative item, and it's easy to make with a bit of practice. Materials Needed:

  • * Any yarn ( I used cotton yarn )
  • * Crochet hook size 2.5mm
  • * Stuffing
  • * Yarn needle
  • * Scissors
Abbreviation: 

MR - magic ring
Ch - chain 
Sc - single crochet
Dc - double crochet
Hdc- half double crochet
Fpdc - front podt double crochet
Bpdc- back post double crochet
Inc- increse 

Baby Cactus Pattern:

The small baby cactuses on the sides:
Row1: ch2 and 15 dc into MR
Row2: ch2, (1 fpdc, 1 bpdc) *8, sl st
Crochet for about 4 cm or 7 rows and then lace two markers like shown in the video
Row n: ch2, 1 fpdc, 1 bpdc, 1 fpdc, 1 bphdc, ( fpsc, bpdc) *4, 1 bphdc, 1 fpdc, 1 bpdc, 1 fpdc, sl st
Crochet until desired length and fulfil with hallofiber 

Big Trunk cactus  🌵 

Row 1: ch2, 11 dc into MR
Row 2 : 12 inc ( 24 )
Row 3: ch2 , (fpdc, bpdc) * crochet alternatively until the end of the row 
Crochet the same way until desired length of cactus
Sew all the parts together.
