CROCHET STORY OF no_way_crochet :  h ttps://instagram.com/no__way__crochet?igshid=1tyodo7uif7cr I very much fell into the world of crochet and it was honestly the best thing to ever happen.  I lost my nan January 2020 and 3 days prior to her death my sister told me she was pregnant with her first baby. My nan had made me a blanket when I was born which was a big comfort to me growing up and I still have it to this day, 26 years later. She had also taught me to knit as a child and so I decided I was going to knit the baby a blanket in homage to her.    I had never made anything more than practice rows of a scarf so I decided I was going to do squares for a patchwork blanket. I then learned the best way to add the squares together was to crochet them. Then with a gifted hook from a friend and a YouTube I figured how to crochet the squares together and even managed to crochet his initials to

Crocheter recieves the most amazing Yarn Storage gift from her father.

Image
Yarn storage can become a real headache for many crocheters or knitters. You can easily end up in   piles of tangled yarn without being able to find what you need when you need.      Today I was browsing Facebook and one post got my attention. I saw a picture of abeautiful crochet cabinet storage for yarn and hooks. It was so amazing as well as the story behind it.The story that touched my heart so I decided to share it with you.    The lady called Hailee Jenkins published a  post   I read the post and felt so happy for her. I think any crocheter would love to receive such a gift.    The design is  smart,  practical  and beautiful. Her father, Tim Lively put his sole and love into the design with such precision, that each detail is so beautifully thought out.    The upper part is for hooks and other tools storage. The main part is for yarn and cords. What'smore there are two big boxes in the lower part for extra storage. When the cabinet is close

How to hold a crochet hook correctly

Image
Crocheters are  constantly arguing about how to hold the hook correctly.  I think those who hold the hook like a knife have heard repeatedly: “How do you even crochet?  This is wrong and inconvenient!  And in general, your stitches will be crooked! " So I decided to try and crochet holding like a pen. Holding like a pen Holding like a knife  I realised that both ways are absolutely possible for me but now holding as 0 knife is more natural for me even if it can be wrong for so many people. I really think that it's not important how to hold a hook, the main thing the process itself must bring you pleasure. And if you like the creations you make, what else is important? For my own curiosity I did a survey on Instagram stories to see how many people hold like a pen and how many hold like a knife. The result is photo below  As we can see 56 people hold as a pen, against 50 hold as a knife. It proves again that both ways a

The legendary net bag of Tik Tok

The video with this bag was shared on Tik tok by @celanicole and got more than 1000000 views and inspired hundreds of people to start learning how to crochet.   I was extremely touched by the fact that celanicole actually recreated my bag with such details and her bags looks identical to mine on YouTube tutorial!!  It is an awesome experience because everytime I record a tutorial I wish all my viwers can succeed in achieving the final result.  It is sometimes clear to me how to make the crochet item but it is not easy to make it clear for everyone just by recording a video tutorial.  So it is very rewarding to see people actually make what you are trying to teach in the video.  I received many comments from complete beginners that they watched this video and made a beautiful net bag. Korean style scarves with one ball of yarn

Image
It often happens to me that when I see some attractive new type of yarn for me, I still buy that  yarn but just one ball. And then I sit in my studio with one question in my head: "what can I do with this ball of yarn?". Or when I buy one ball of yarn for specific project but later I realise that it can't be done with that yarn. Recently THAT YARN for me was one ball of fur yarn and velvet yarn. I had many ideas for that one ball of fur yarn but it was enough for nothing not even a small pillow or tiny mat. Until one day the idea hit my brain Korean style fur scarf. I call it korean style just because I saw many korean vloggers had similar ones. It's short practical and pretty.   For this type of scarf you can use literally any yarn you want and a matching hook. The recommended size is 80~90 cm long and 10 cm wide. You can customise the size as you prefer. The key idea is to crochet a little whole where one end of scarf can be inserted to avoid
