The 10-Minute Crochet Snowball: Easiest Christmas Ornament (Free Pattern!)
Hello, crafty friends! The holiday season is upon us, and I have the most wonderful, quick, and easy project for you today. If you're looking for a handmade touch for your Christmas tree or a last-minute gift idea, you've come to the right place. We're going to crochet an adorable, squishy **Snowball Ornament!**
This is genuinely one of the fastest amigurumi projects you'll ever make. Based on my video tutorial, you can finish one in about 10 minutes! It's perfect for beginners, uses up those small bits of scrap yarn (especially white and silver!), and adds a cozy, handmade charm to your festive decor. Let's make a blizzard!

Materials You'll Need
Based on the video, here is everything I used for this super simple project:
- Yarn: White Cotton Yarn (any brand will do, this is perfect for scraps!)
- Crochet Hook: 2 mm or matching hook.
- Stuffing: Polyester fiberfill
- Yarn Needle: For weaving in ends
- Scissors
Abbreviations (US Crochet Terms)

- sc: Single Crochet
- inc: Increase (work 2 sc in the same stitch)
- dec: Decrease (work 2 sc together)
- st(s): Stitch(es)
- ch: Chain
- sl st: Slip Stitch

Crochet Snowball Ornament: Free Written Pattern
This pattern is worked in continuous rounds. Use a stitch marker to mark the first stitch of each round and move it up as you go.
Start with your white yarn.
Round 1: Start with a Magic Ring, work 6 sc into the ring. (6 sts)
Round 2: Work 1 inc in every stitch around. (12 sts)
Round 3: (1 sc, 1 inc) - repeat 6 times. (18 sts)
Round 4: (2 sc, 1 inc) - repeat 6 times. (24 sts)
Rounds 5-14 (10 rounds): Work 1 sc in every stitch around. (24 sts per round)

Round 15: (2 sc, 1 dec) - repeat 6 times. (18 sts)
Round 16: (1 sc, 1 dec) - repeat 6 times. (12 sts)
At this point (as shown in the video at 08:20), pause and stuff your snowball firmly with fiberfill.
Round 17: Work 1 dec in every stitch around (6 decreases total). (6 sts)
Fasten off, leaving a long tail for sewing. Using your yarn needle, weave the tail through the front loops of the final 6 stitches and pull tight to close the hole completely. Secure the end and weave it in.
Creating the Hanging Loop
Atach your yarn to the top of the snowball (where you just closed the hole). Chain 20. Secure the end of the chain back into the same starting point to create a strong loop for hanging. Fasten off and weave in any remaining ends invisibly.
